World Hindi Day 2026

The High Commission of India, Freetown, celebrated World Hindi Day with great enthusiasm and joy on January 10, 2026. Members of the Indian community and children participated enthusiastically and made the event a success.
At the start of the program, Indian High Commissioner Mr. B.C. Pradhan read out a message from Honorable Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on the occasion of World Hindi Day. In his address, he highlighted the important role of language and culture in the nation's progress and urged all present to actively contribute to the promotion of the Hindi language and Indian culture.
On this occasion, members of the Indian community and children enthusiastically participated in various Hindi competitions—such as Hindi essay writing, Hindi poetry recitation, and Hindi speech competitions on various topics. The High Commissioner honored the participants with certificates and prizes.
The programme played an important role in increasing awareness about the Hindi language and strengthening Indian culture.
